310 Poe Hall, Box 7801 saundra_williams@ncsu.edu Dr. Saundra Wall Williams received her B.S. and M.S. degrees from North Carolina State University majoring in Mathematics and Statistics. She completed her Ed.D. at North Carolina State University in Adult and Community College Education with major study in Training and Development. Dr. Williams has over thirteen years experience in business and industry in the field of training and development. Before entering the professorate, she was Director of Technical Training
and Education for Syntel, Inc. in Cary, NC as well as an Adjunct Professor
in Adult and Community College Education at North Carolina State University
in Raleigh, NC. Prior to her career at Syntel, Inc., Dr. Williams was
employed at as the Senior Technical Education Specialist for Broadband
Technologies, Inc. in Research Triangle Park, NC. She began her career
in training and development with Nortel as a Senior Technical Trainer
at the Nortel Technical Education Center in Raleigh, NC. Prior to her
career in training and development, Dr. Williams was employed as a Software
Engineer for Nortel. Additionally, she taught calculus as a Visiting Instructor
in the department of Mathematics at North Carolina State University. Teaching Dr. Saundra Wall Williams has taught in the area of training and development with particular emphasis on the design, development, and evaluation of technology-based training and technical skills training. She has also instructed in the areas of research in training and development, career development for training and development professionals, and management for training and development organizations. She is engaged in developing web-based courses that focus on integrating technology into training design. She has taught the following courses. EAC 585 - Integrating Technology into Training Design and Delivery Dr. Williams current research focus is teaching and learning in
technology-based environments. Specifically the instructional design,
teaching, and learning in the workplace via web-based training. Dr. Williams
complements her research in web-based training and technical training
with studies on adult learning and web-based instruction/training, instructional
strategies and web-based instruction/training, and integrating learning
theories into web-based instruction. Her research activity is evidenced
by her being named a Cyril O. Houle Scholar in Adult Education (http://www.coe.uga.edu/HSP).
