Darryl D. McGraw Visiting Assistant Professor ddmcgraw@waketech.edu Dr. Darryl McGraw is a product of the North Carolina Community College System, having received his A.A. degree from Southeastern Community College. He went on to receive a B.S. in Computer Science from North Carolina State University, and an M.B.A. from Campbell University. He completed his Ed.D. at North Carolina State University, where his research centered on distance education in the North Carolina Community College System. He has a significant amount of industrial experience in information technology
outside of academia, including over 10 years spent in programming and
project management. He has a number of increasingly responsible positions
in academic administration, mostly centering around the fields of academic
and administrative technology in education. He was formerly the Director
of Distance Educations at North Carolina State University and is currently
Associate Vice President of Instructional Development and Technology at
the North Carolina Community College System. Dr. McGraw has taught the senior Database Project Course in the Computer
Science Department at NC State University, as well as independent study
courses in the Computer Science Department during his association with
the College of Engineering at NC State University. He has been active
in developing distance learning courses using the North Carolina Information
Highway, video-based telecourses, and web-based courses using a variety
of tools. He has taught EAC 795I, Special Topics: Developing Technology-Based
Training. Current research interests are distance education models used in junior
and community colleges, and the analysis of performance in distance learning
