Background

In addition to her teaching duties, Dr. Diane Chapman is Coordinator of the T&D Online M.Ed. and certificate programs. Her background includes positions involving the training management and the design and development of distance learning projects. Dr. Chapman received her B.B.A. from Western Michigan University and her M.B.A. from Western Carolina University. She completed her Ed.D. at North Carolina State University with major study in Adult Education with a specialization in Training and Development.

Prior to joining the Training and Development program, Dr. Chapman served as the Coordinator for Online Instruction at the UNC-CH School of Public Health. She has also worked in positions involving training management, production, and purchasing management. She brings over 20 years of management experience in business and industry.

Research

Dr. Chapman's current research interests are in the design and use of virtual worlds for teaching and learning, training and program evaluation, the evaluation of instructional technology.
