Software Requirments

Program participants must have Microsoft Office word processing software (or be able to save files in this format). Educationally priced versions of this and other software is available for purchase at the NCSU Bookstores (http://www.fis.ncsu.edu/ncsubookstores/software.html). Students must also have a web browser that is approved for use with Blackboard Vista, the course management system primarily used in this program.

In addition, some of our courses use a synchronous meeting software called Elluminate. In order to have the best expereince with Elluminate, it is recommended that you purchase a computer headset/microphone combination.

 

Several browser plug-ins are required for each course (Acrobat Reader, Flash, RealPlayer, etc). During the orientation for each course, students learn about these plugins and the procedures for downloading and installing them.
